Over the last decade Trevor Sands has adapted some of the most acclaimed works of science fiction for the big screen, including the novels "Hyperion" and “Fall of Hyperion” by Dan Simmons (Warner Bros./Graham King), "Startide Rising" by David Brin (Paramount/Mace Neufeld), Software by Rudy Rucker (Phoenix/Mike Meadavoy), and "The Six-Billion Dollar Man" (Bob Weinstein/Dimension) among many other writing assignments.
He has sold two original screenplays: His sci-fi spec “Resurrection” sold to Sony with Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment producing. His original screenplay “Clean Break”, which sold to Focus Features, made the top ten of the annual Black List, and has Tobey Maguire attached to produce and star.
His one foray into writing for TV was an episode of the long-running series “Supernatural”.
In 2013 Sands co-wrote and directed the sci-fi thriller "E.T.X.R." for 20th Century Fox, a micro budget "straight to digital" feature released by Netflix. His director’s showcase short film "Inside" starring Jeremy Sisto, won awards at numerous film festivals. He has also directed dozens of commercials for clients such as American Express, E-Bay, Southwest Airlines, Black & Decker, and many more.
In fall of 2016, he wrote, directed, and edited “Timeless: Continuum Recon” a virtual reality experience produced for the hit series “Timeless” on NBC and produced by Sony Pictures Television.
Sands is also a producer and co-writer on "Slingshot", an original sic-fi feature set up at Warner Bros. with Luke Greenfield (“Let’s Be Cops”, “The Girl Next Door”) attached to direct.
Currently, Sands is writing and directing a full length interactive “Blade Runner” Virtual Reality experience tied to the much anticipated sequel“Blade Runner 2049” starringRyan Gosling and Harrison Ford. “Blade Runner: Nexus” will be released on the Google Daydream VR platform in late 2017.
